Authorized dealer status is not a marketing label. It is granted directly by Leica Camera AG in Wetzlar, Germany, and represents a specific commitment from the manufacturer that this shop carries verified, non-gray-market inventory eligible for full Leica USA warranty and factory-direct service. Authorized status is rare in the southwestern United States. The Camera Shop of Santa Fe has held it for years.

Why buy a Leica from an authorized dealer instead of online?
Three reasons. First, manufacturer warranty. Authorized purchases are covered directly by Leica USA. Second, factory service routing. Authorized dealers can ship your camera straight to Leica's service center for repair. Third, verified inventory. Gray-market Leicas can be hard to spot but they are not warranted by Leica USA. Buying through an authorized dealer eliminates all three risks.
Can I hold a Leica before buying?
Yes. Hands-on demos are how we sell Leica. The cameras are mechanical objects with a particular weight, balance, and feel. The M-System in particular is a manual rangefinder experience that has to be tried before it makes sense. Drop in Monday to Friday between 1pm and 5pm, or call (505) 983-6591 to schedule a longer demo.
Do you take Leica trade-ins?
Yes. We take Leica trade-ins toward new Leica purchases. Leica gear holds value better than nearly any other camera brand, so trade-in credit toward a new body is often substantial. Bring the camera and any accessories in for a same-day evaluation.
Do you stock Leica lenses?
Yes. We carry M-mount, L-mount, and select S-mount lenses, plus we special-order anything in the current Leica catalog. M-mount lenses date back decades and most still mount cleanly on the M11. We can also adapt M-mount lenses to the SL-System with the L-mount adapter.
How does Leica factory service work?
Bring your Leica to the shop. We diagnose the issue and ship the camera to Leica's authorized service center. Leica technicians repair the camera using genuine Leica parts. The camera ships back to us, and we return it to you. Authorized dealer status keeps the routing direct and the warranty intact.
