How We Grade

Three grades. Real testing.

Every item that comes into the used department gets put on a body, fired, focused, metered, and inspected. Then it gets a grade. Every grade is backed by our 30-day warranty.

Excellent

Like New

Minimal cosmetic wear, full functionality, often boxed with original accessories. The kind of camera you would happily buy new again.

B
Good

Light Wear

Fully functional with light, honest signs of use. Maybe a small mark on the body. Optics clean. Shutter accurate. Mechanically sound.

Well-loved

Working Tool

Visible wear, fully functional, priced accordingly. The camera that has been to weddings, on assignments, and through actual photography. Still works perfectly.

Call ahead

Ask what is in stock, or describe what you are looking for. We will tell you what is on the shelf today.

Drop in

Stop by 1808 2nd Street between 1pm and 5pm Monday to Friday. We can hold inventory if you are driving in.

Try it on

Hold the camera. Mount the lens. Fire a few frames. Make sure it feels right before you commit.

Walk out

Carry the camera home with a 30-day warranty. Use it. If anything is off, bring it back.

Selling Your Gear

Selling? We work with KEH.

For higher-volume sales, we partner with KEH Camera. KEH is the largest used-camera dealer in the United States. They have been buying, grading, and reselling photography gear since 1979. Their offers are fair. Their grading is consistent. Their checks clear.

A few times a year, KEH sets up at our shop for in-store buying events. You bring your gear, they evaluate it on the spot, and you walk out with cash. No shipping. No mystery offers. No back and forth.

For smaller items, you can also bring them in any day for an in-shop trade-in evaluation paid as store credit. Either path works.

What used cameras and lenses do you carry?
Our used department carries hand-checked Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and Leica bodies and lenses. Inventory rotates as items come in from trade-ins and KEH buying events. Call (505) 983-6591 or stop by 1808 2nd Street to ask about specific bodies, mounts, or focal lengths.
Is your used gear under warranty?
Yes. Every used item we sell comes with a 30-day in-house warranty. Each body and lens is hand-checked, tested, and graded before it goes on the shelf. If something is wrong inside that 30 day window, bring it back.
How do I sell my camera in Santa Fe?
Two paths. For lower-volume items, bring your camera or lens in for an in-shop trade-in evaluation, paid as store credit. For higher-volume sales, we host periodic in-store buying events with our partner KEH Camera, where you can sell directly for cash. Call (505) 983-6591 to ask about the next KEH event.
Who is KEH Camera and why do you partner with them?
KEH Camera is the largest used-camera dealer in the United States, based in Atlanta. They have been buying, grading, and reselling used photography gear since 1979. We partner with KEH because their grading is consistent, their offers are fair, and their in-store buying events let our customers sell directly without shipping anything.
Do you grade your used cameras?
Yes. We use a three-tier grading scale. Grade A is excellent, like-new, full functionality and minimal wear. Grade B is good, fully functional with light cosmetic wear. Grade C is well-loved, fully functional with visible wear. Every grade comes with our 30-day warranty.
Can I reserve a used item before driving in?
Yes. Call (505) 983-6591 or send a note through our contact form. We can hold an item for 24 hours with verbal confirmation, longer with a small deposit. Especially helpful if you are driving from Albuquerque, Los Alamos, or Taos.
